“Going through hardship is like being a rock in a tumbler. You’re tossed to and fro and get bruised, but you come out more polished and valuable than ever. You are now prepared for even bigger lessons, bigger challenges, and a bigger life. All the nightmares are turned into blessings that become part of living. If we had shielded the Grand Canyon from the windstorms that created it, we would not see the beauty of its carvings. That may be why so many patients have told us that if they could magically go back to the point right before they got their cancer or other life-challenging disease, and erase what was to come, they would not. In so many ways, loss shows us what is precious, while love teaches us who we are. Relationships remind us of ourselves and provide wondrous opportunities for growth. Fear, anger, guilt, patience, and even time become our greatest teachers. Even in our darkest hours we are growing.”

Dear clients and friends,
I hope you're staying warm and well during this chilly, uncertain time of year!
I'm on a full health-related spiritual sabbatical until Spring 2021.  I've always wanted to take some time to reconnect with my spiritual centre while hiking and mountaineering full-time, so I'm pursuing this dream from now until then.  There's something really soothing about meditative Zen breathing and recharging in nature, disconnected from technology and far away from the nonstop hustle and bustle.
My team has all of my completed creative projects--designs, books, TV show season 1, documentary films--ready for editing and then set for release.  They're more than capable of running the show without my constant presence.  As such, I'm not doing any couture fittings personally this season or releasing my couture collection in the typical manner on schedule given my travel and spiritual growth plans.  My team is working out solutions, which may involve a digital lookbook, videos recorded in my absence, alongside a new website and distributed fittings for private clients.  We'll make sure anyone who has ordered couture garments receives what they desire on schedule at the most exacting quality standards--even if that means we fly people out from Paris to deliver couture orders in person.  My team of contractors have absolutely everything under control and the mandate to make any and all executive decisions in the best interest of client needs.  Please rest assured that any and all Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom dresses ordered are going to be fabulous and delivered well ahead of each deadline.  We're known for always coming in on time!  Dresses are always complete and ready to wear at least one month prior to any wedding; we can even make magic happen for last-minute wedding requests with 24 hours of notice!  My virtual assistants will handle all administrative tasks in my absence; they know me well enough to know what I think about various topics and I trust that they will make you feel comfortable should you have any questions or concerns that come up at any time.  Please rest assured that collection slideshows are forthcoming.  My Hong Kong-based marketing team will recreate new social media profiles for my various projects when the time is right and manage everything on my behalf.
Irrespective of public-facing press opportunities arranged and secured entirely by my internal and outsourced team, I am and will remain a private figure.  If major news outlets cover me or solicit comments from me about my creative work while I remain on a full time sabbatical outside of my ordinary residence in West Palm Beach, Florida, then I cannot be considered a public figure merely for responding to an email request for further information.  It is an editorial decision to cover creative products that just so happen to be created by me and/or invented by me.  Given that I've not received much press in 2019 and 2020, I remain a private figure as per the case New York Times v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964), and the standard in Dameron v. Washington Magazine, Inc., 779 F.2d 736 (D.C. Cir. 1985) is irrelevant and does not apply.  Thank you so much for your understanding.
I hope you and your loved ones have a relaxing and wonderful start to 2021.

All safe, healthy, warm wishes,
Misha Kaura
